The "Corporate Giving Form" is the common moniker for the giving experience that embodies the second Ektron version of Moody's online giving form. This experience is characterized by five key features:
  1. A single-page design (the previous form was a multi-step/multi-page design)
  2. An extensible system for creating hierarchies of selectable designations
  3. Accepts EFT payments
  4. International address friendly
  5. Multi-lingual capability

For reference, the "main" giving form can be viewed in English and Spanish as the following addresses:

Other versions of the form exist as well for specific purposes:

Any giving form is comprised of six basic parts:
  1. A designation
  2. A premium, which is optionally used by the designation
  3. An optional taxonomy that orders designations into hierarchies, up to 3 levels deep
  4. A giving form, which a single designation or the ID of the taxonomy that defines the designation drop-down menus
  5. An optional confirmation e-mail content block
  6. An optional confirmation e-mail postback (Web confirmation page content) content block

Designations

Designations are what "drive" the giving form. Designations are controlled by a designation item smart form, and each designation represents:
  1. A selection on the designation drop-down menus (the "Make a donation to:" selections) in the case of a "Drop Down Selection Driven Designations" giving form (see the Corporate Giving Form - Create a Giving Form page for more information), or
  2. The single designation (no selection required) on a "Single Designation" giving form (see the Corporate Giving Form - Create a Giving Form page for more information)

Each designation smart form contains a set of codes provided by Donor Resource Management and marketing material including a banner image and a short paragraph whose function should be to, for example, promote or describing why the donor might want to choose that designation, or what the donor's gift will be used for, etc. Additionally, the designation item smart form contains options to fully control most of the options that appear on the giving form, such as suggested gift amounts, payment options, confirmation page (also called "postback") and confirmation e-mail content, and others. This means that each campaign can offer options specific to the needs of that campaign and each campaign's giving form can be unique from others.

Please see the Corporate Giving Form - Create a Designation page for more information.

Premium

Many giving campaigns offer a premium which the donor will receive from Moody as a "thank you" for their gift. Information for premiums is controlled using a premium item smart form. Because the premium item smart form is separate from any designation, it is possible to reuse premiums for multiple campaigns at once, or reuse a premium at a later time (if the premium codes are the same) by simply specifying an already created premium item on the designation smart form's premium content selector (the "Please select the premium you wish to display:" field). Please see the Corporate Giving Form - Create a Premium page for more information.

Taxonomy: (giving)Designation Dropdowns

A taxonomy, the (giving)Designation Dropdowns taxonomy to be exact, though any taxonomy can be used or created, is used to organize designations into hierarchies to be used on "Drop Down Selection Driven Designations" giving forms. Any taxonomy category can be selected for the "Drop Down Selection Driven Designations" category selector, and the children of that category will form the designation drop-down(s) menu's options. Please see the structure of this taxonomy to help understand how designations are organized to create giving forms with selectable designations, noting the "[des=#]" (where "#" is the content block ID of the designation smart form) in each item's Taxonomy Description. Also, please see the Corporate Giving Form - Create a Giving Form page for more information.

Giving Forms

Each giving from page itself is controlled by a giving from smart form. The purpose of the giving form smart form is first to provide an addressable page, but second and more importantly, in conjunction with the taxonomies mentioned above, to allow the content manager to control the designations that appear on each giving form. A giving form may offer a single designation or a selectable designation, as mentioned above in the Designations section, and the giving form smart form is where the content manager specifies this configuration for each giving form. Additionally, the giving form smart form controls the introductory content that appears above the designation drop-down selections or designation marketing content. Please see the Corporate Giving Form - Create a Giving Form page for more information.

Basic Giving Form Creation Process

The basic giving form creation process is as follows:
  1. Create a premium item smart form content block (if needed). Please see the Corporate Giving Form - Create a Premium page for more information.
  2. Create a designation item smart form content block. Please see the Corporate Giving Form - Create a Designation page for more information.
  3. Create a giving form smart form content block or add the designation item to an existing taxonomy used on a giving form. Please see the Corporate Giving Form - Create a Giving Form page for more information.
